Catalytic oxidative dehydrogenation of propane over Mg–V/Mo oxides
نویسندگان
چکیده
Fifteen distinct MgO–V2O5, MgO–MoO3, MgO–V2O5–MoO3, and V2O5–MoO3 compositions were prepared using sol–gel chemistry and their selectivities and conversions for propane oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) to propylene were measured. The vanadates were more active than the molybdates at lower temperatures; however, the molybdates exhibited higher selectivities at similar conversions. An increase in both ODH conversion and selectivity with molybdenum substitution on vanadium sites was also observed. These results demonstrate the importance of the bulk structure on the ODH reaction. In general, propylene selectivities increased with increasing conversions at temperatures above 673 K when oxygen depletion in the reactant stream occurred. Visible and UV Raman spectroscopy corroborates this result and helps focus attention on critical surface-specific information. A new Raman peak was observed for the partially reduced MgMoO4 and is associated with a three-coordinate surface oxygen. 2004 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

Propane oxidative dehydrogenation over vanadium oxide nanostructures supported on porous graphene prepared by hydrothermal method
In this study at first, in laboratory, three types of vanadium oxide were produced by using porous graphene and amine framework in hydrothermal method nanostructures such as: vanadium oxide - octadecyl amine - graphene, vanadium oxide - dodecyl amine - graphene and vanadium oxide – aniline - graphene (V-ODA-G، V-DDA-G، V-A-G). Then their structures and functions in propane dehydrogenation react...

We used density functional theory quantum mechanics with periodic boundary conditions to determine the atomistic mechanism underlying catalytic activation of propane by the M1 phase of Mo-V-Nb-Te-O mixed metal oxides. We find that propane is activated by Te═O through our recently established reduction-coupled oxo activation mechanism. More importantly, we find that the C-H activation activity o...

Graphene oxides (GOs) may offer extraordinary potential in the design of novel catalytic systems due to the presence of various oxygen functional groups and their unique electronic and structural properties. Using first-principles calculations, we explore the plausible mechanisms for the oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) of propane to propene by GOs and the diffusion of the surface oxygen-contain...
متن کاملEffects of molybdena on the catalytic properties of vanadia domains supported on alumina for oxidative dehydrogenation of propane
The oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) of propane was investigated on vanadia dispersed on alumina containing a nominal polymolybdate monolayer (4.8 Mo/nm2). Dehydrogenation rates and selectivities on these catalysts were compared with those on vanadia domains dispersed on alumina. At a given vanadia surface density, ODH reaction rates per gram of catalyst were about 1.5–2 times greater on MoOx -c...

The effects of alkali oxides on the structure and on the catalytic behavior of MoOx/ZrO2 were examined for the oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) of propane. X-ray diffraction, Raman and X-ray absorption spectroscopy, and estimates of the MoOx surface density are consistent with the predominant presence of two-dimensional polymolybdate domains in samples with ∼4 Mo/nm2 surface density and (alkali/...
